How do I setup my Dial-up account on Windows 98? |

Step 1 To begin creating a Dial-Up Connection, click the Start button, then click Run and type in inetwiz and click Ok ![]() Step 2 If you already have a dial-up connection on your computer you will be presented with an option to use an existing dial-up connection or to create a new one. Select Create a new dial-up connection or select an existing dial-up connection. Click Next to continue.
Step 3 You must now enter the phone number your modem should dial to connect to Calinet.
(Your Calinet Sales rep will provide with your local number during setup) You should uncheck the checkbox for using the area code and country code since you will be dialing a local number. Click Next to continue. Step 4 You now need to enter the Username and Password you requested when you subscribed for CIC Wireless service.
If you subscribed for service online you would have been shown the Username and Password at the competion of the Signup Wizard. If you subscribed over the telephone, our Staff would have verified this information with you. Your Username is also your complete Email Address. Click Next to continue. Note: Do not misplace your Username or Password. You will need both when you use your Dial-Up and Check your Email. Step 5 Now we must enter a name for the connection we are creating.
The name you enter here is just so you know what this connection is called. We recommend entering Calinet. Click Next to continue Step 6 You now have the option to set up your Email account. We recommend that if you have not yet set up your Email account that you do so now.
Check the Yes radio button. Click Next to continue. Step 7 We now need to have your Real Name. This is the name that will be displayed when you send an Email to someone.
You must enter something here although it does not have to be your real name. You may enter a company name or a nickname if you choose. Click Next to continue. Step 8 Your Email Address now needs to be entered. Enter your complete CIC Wireless Email Address including the @calinet.com.
Click Next to continue. Step 9 On this step you must enter the Incoming and Outgoing CIC Wireless Email Servers.
For both fields you should enter mail.calinet.com as we use the same server name for both incoming and outgoing..just to simplify things. The dropdown box labeled My incoming mail server is a, should be selected on POP3. Click Next to continue. Step 10 On the Internet Mail Login window you will need to enter the Username and Password just as you did on Step 5 above.
Your Username is your COMPLETE CIC Wireless Email Address, including the @calinet.com. Click Next to continue. Step 11 Congratulations!
You have created a Dial-Up Connection to CIC Wireless. Click Finish to complete the Wizard. |
